Toddler Self Discovery
Toddlers are full of wonder; every new sight, sound, texture is a marvelous new experience. Toddlers learn through sensory experiences that reinforce their cognitive, language, motor and social skills. These are the primary years in your child’s life, the time when they learn who they are and discover how they are special and unique.
Bluebird Day Care & Learning Center provides children in Albuquerque a fun learning experience in a safe and nurturing environment. We also emphasize the importance of parental involvement, which is why we welcome parent volunteers with open arms. Contact us today to learn more.
At our Albuquerque toddler care center, we provide a nurturing & stimulating environment for children twelve-months to twenty-months, encouraging them to blossom as they gain confidence by interacting with others and exploring the world around them in a safe, loving environment. Our flexible lesson plans and learning activities promote development in six areas—cognitive, social, emotional, physical, motor, and language.
Toddler Learning and Fun
We help your toddler explore our fully-equipped, continually updated playground—allowing your child to learn how to be self-sufficient, independent and confident. While using positive reinforcement, support and guided instruction, our teachers facilitate learning activities that help your toddler explore his or her world. Our nationally accredited toddler program offers supervised activities including:
- Singing (Ring Around the Rosy, Head and Shoulder Knees and Toes, Sally the Camel, etc.)
- Circle Time
- Dancing (pom-poms, streamers, scarves, egg shakers)
- Play-Doh® Center
- Manipulatives (soft rabbits, soft blocks, waffle blocks, giant puzzles, etc.)
- Creative Arts (Finger Painting, Sponge Painting, etc.)
- Hula Hoop Activities
- Sandbox Play Activities
- Follow the Leader (Soft Tunnel Climbing, Slide Area)
- Dramatic Play Area
- Dress Up Center
- Block Building Activities
- Matching and Sorting Colors and Shapes
- Sensory Balls Center
Throughout the day, we allow our toddlers free time during which they can select different supervised activities at various learning centers throughout the classroom. This helps them build independence and quenches their thirst for learning.
At Bluebird Day Care & Learning Center, we serve three homemade meals: breakfast, lunch and a snack. During our family-style lunch, children are encouraged to serve themselves and are instructed in proper table manners. This social interaction fosters a sense of community, helps your toddler learn societal rules, and gives him or her practice with motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Open Door Policy and Parent/Guardian Involvement
The center has an open door policy to allow parents and guardians to visit with their child unannounced. Parents and guardians are highly encouraged to volunteer their skills and talents by assisting the teacher in the classroom with activities such as reading to the children and helping with arts/project time, outdoor activity time, circle time and lunchtime.
On-going observation and assessment of your child’s progress is part of our Albuquerque toddler care program at Bluebird Day Care & Learning Center. By carefully assessing your child, we are able to tell you exactly how your child is advancing in our program. Two parent-teacher conferences are scheduled throughout the year to provide you with the opportunity to discuss your child’s growth in detail; parent-teacher conferences may also be scheduled as needed.
We know how important it is for toddlers to establish a sense of self-esteem, self-worth and understanding. At our 5-Star nationally accredited toddler program, we nurture your toddler and help them build their own love for who they are.
